Sens 2, Habs 0: Sweet Merciful Crap, Sens Win! E-mail

As I watched a game that began with so much promise, hustle and, dare I say it, beauty degenerate into a "no YOU take it" mess of mud wrasslin' crapitude, I couldn't help but think to myself "Holy shit!  We might actually win this thing!"

Super condensed bulleted Creamy Middle goodness to follow.  'Cause, you know, we have to do it all over again tomorrow with the electrical college Flyers.

  • And lo, a child shall lead them.  Great Dane with his first in 11 games and Erik The Green with a wrister, a hope and a prayer on the power play.  Almost makes me forgive them both for the 127 gray hairs that instantly appeared on my head whenever both they and the puck were in our zone at the same time.

  • Why Kovy's ass wasn't stapled to the bench after the first period remains a mystery.  Remind me how a buyout on a single contract year works again?

  • Dear Andy Sutton.  I'd like some more of that please.

  • I sincerely hope Travis Moen's face makes a full recovery.  Yikes...that was disturbing.  Should have been you, Lapierre.

  • Rough night for Spawn of Mike.  Not only does he sink to the fourth line after starting with Giggles and The Captain, but he's also the first player in league history to take a high sticking penalty as a result of an opposing player smashing himself in the face.

  • In other news, Zack Smith stays for the duration Bryan.  Capice?

  • And last, but not least, a word to Brian Elliott.  I counted no less than six game savers.  Bravo. Just do that for the next nine games, and everyone will love you again.  Promise.

So yeah.  First five game losing streak...snapped by a 2-0 shutout.  Many are the ensuing sweet elixirs of consecutive victories.  Second five game losing streak...snapped by a 2-0 shutout.  Hmmm...

While Her Majesty does not appreciate irrational superstition amongst her Loyal Servants, if we beat the Flyers tomorrow, my meetings are about to get rather more fragrant.  What's She going to do? Order me to change my underwear?

Need your slump busted? Just give us a call. We'll happily oblige. No refunds on Kovalevs, sorry. Just photoshops.

Moen's ok. Nothing 25 stitches to keep his face together couldn't fix, but no eyes were damaged. Them Saskatchewan boys are pretty solid. I'm scared to see what he looks like now, however...
1 for the money...

BELIEVE.
I know this team. The Sens are a passion in my life. Many a gf have tried to test my will towards watching them. Wanting me to go out with their dimwitted friends instead or to change the channel to CSI.

But seeing as i live in southern ontario and all thats ever on is the insufferable
Losers Even After Fourty yearS. Even when they arent infecting my t.v and i should be able to watch my Sens, Sportsnet East is sometimes blacked out.

Hang on, ive just kidnapped Kipprios from Sportsnet and am holding him in my basement as ransom until Sportsnet corrects this problem. Kipper's all complaining about needed to eat every six hours. Let me just shut this door slot here...there we go. Silence! Hmmm so far Sportsnet doesnt really seem to care to offer anything in negotiation to get him back...

Anywho! That means everytime the Sens are on i'm watching. EVERY gf that has made a final stand and asked me to make a choice, watching the Sens or them, has been told to and i quote "Make me a sandwich." After they finish huffing and puffing, my will and determination was recognized by the opposite sex and rewarded.
A sandwhich has been brought forth and Senators hockey has been watched.

This team was still struggling a bit on defense tonight. Stupid defensive blunders but other than that they just have to keep on building on it. When they traded goals to a 5-4 loss in dallas i knew that things were at least starting to get better. I knew theyd beat the french diving team.
Now they just have to keep bringing the forecheck and 2 way effort each night and tighten up the defensive play. Also whoever we go with in net needs to be solid.

Cheers to a better game by the Sens.
Heres hoping they continue to improve and get the wins they need.
Im gonna go finish my sandwich. mmmmmm.
Tastes like Victory. smilies/grin.gif
GO. SENS. GO.

I’m with our friend neil_danz. Southern Ontario sucks for coverage. I live right smack in the middle of Leaf land. No, not Woodbridge, but close enough. I appreciate being able to watch my team, but I KNOW this bee-yotch was broadcast in HD, so why am I stuck lo-def on good ol’ ROGERS #455? Fuckers.

Anyhow… the gents played with verve and determination every now and then, and were lucky enough not to let the Les Crapitants jump all over Belli. That being said, his blocker hand (arm?) was on fire tonight. He almost looked like himself again. Good win for the boys, perhaps I might have to follow you on the gitch. No changing whilst the team wins.

GO SENS GO!

I feel your pain gentlemen. I live in Northern Ontario and after years of cursing Sportsnet Ontario, I decided to pay Shaw cable a few more bucks a month for digital cable and Sportsnet East this year. Between CBC, TSN, TSN2, and all the Sportsnet channels, I've only missed a couple this year. The down side is that you have to witness the excruciating slumps (aka "The Terrifying, Baffling, Excrutiating, Shit Eating Lows").

Well then, gentlemen, I should think the answer is obvious. Burn the ACC to the ground, thus destoying the gravitional pull that keeps all manner of suck trapped in its orbit.** Problem solved! Granted, it would mean greater exposure to Dean Brown and Gary Gally but these things can't be helped.

I'll wait to see how they come out tonight before I put paid to this latest unpleasantness (D a little too shaky for my liking last night, Andy "Man Mountain" Sutton notwithstanding). But I likes me them odds!

**not actually advocating acts of arson.
WHAT???

No need for illegal acts, MFP3, my good man. A few more Laugh losses and the smug fumes trapped within the ACC will eventually react with the gasses of despair to produce a natural flashover.

@neil_danz - my #455 was perfect. I've never had that blacked out. If yours was then that's not cool.

On a side note, I've been trying to convince myself (and whatever lady I'm with at the time) to move back to Ottawa as well. If I can get a job, I'm there next week. Therein lies the problem.

Hey SLC - you guys hiring? i don;t care what the job is!
Kipreos was the problem

Me thinks they'd unblock the channel forever if you agree to keep him in your basement. Then again, you'd be stuck with him....
And there's no point in burning the ACC. If leaf fans are good at anything, its their persistent, sycophantic devotion to their vortex of suck team. They'd have it rebuilt in 24 hours. guaranteed.
