As I watched a game that began with so much promise, hustle and, dare I say it, beauty degenerate into a "no YOU take it" mess of mud wrasslin' crapitude, I couldn't help but think to myself "Holy shit! We might actually win this thing!"
Super condensed bulleted Creamy Middle goodness to follow. 'Cause, you know, we have to do it all over again tomorrow with the electrical college Flyers.
- And lo, a child shall lead them. Great Dane with his first in 11 games and Erik The Green with a wrister, a hope and a prayer on the power play. Almost makes me forgive them both for the 127 gray hairs that instantly appeared on my head whenever both they and the puck were in our zone at the same time.
- Why Kovy's ass wasn't stapled to the bench after the first period remains a mystery. Remind me how a buyout on a single contract year works again?
- Dear Andy Sutton. I'd like some more of that please.
- I sincerely hope Travis Moen's face makes a full recovery. Yikes...that was disturbing. Should have been you, Lapierre.
- Rough night for Spawn of Mike. Not only does he sink to the fourth line after starting with Giggles and The Captain, but he's also the first player in league history to take a high sticking penalty as a result of an opposing player smashing himself in the face.
- In other news, Zack Smith stays for the duration Bryan. Capice?
- And last, but not least, a word to Brian Elliott. I counted no less than six game savers. Bravo. Just do that for the next nine games, and everyone will love you again. Promise.
So yeah. First five game losing streak...snapped by a 2-0 shutout. Many are the ensuing sweet elixirs of consecutive victories. Second five game losing streak...snapped by a 2-0 shutout. Hmmm...
While Her Majesty does not appreciate irrational superstition amongst her Loyal Servants, if we beat the Flyers tomorrow, my meetings are about to get rather more fragrant. What's She going to do? Order me to change my underwear?

Moen's ok. Nothing 25 stitches to keep his face together couldn't fix, but no eyes were damaged. Them Saskatchewan boys are pretty solid. I'm scared to see what he looks like now, however...
